Barangay Balibago strengthens ‘Safer Cities’ drive, honors tanods

The Sangguniang Barangay of Balibago has intensified the implementation of the Safer Cities Program, while expressing appreciation to barangay tanods for their continued service in maintaining peace and order.

During a recent meeting, barangay officials, including Peace and Order Committee Chair Kagawad Ednel Batac and EXO Head Elmer Samson, emphasized the strict enforcement of community discipline measures under an approved barangay resolution.

Authorities highlighted the ongoing efforts of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) members, who conduct nightly patrols to ensure compliance with local ordinances, including:

  • Prohibition of drinking alcoholic beverages in public areas
  • Enforcement of curfew for minors
  • Apprehension of individuals roaming shirtless outside their homes
  • Regulation of loud videoke sessions beyond 10:00 p.m.
  • Monitoring of improper waste disposal
  • Inspection of suspicious individuals, particularly non-residents, to ensure community safety

Kap. PG Ponce officials commended the dedication and sacrifices of BPAT members, including EXOs, monitoring teams, and task force personnel, for their role in upholding order and security in the community.

They stressed that the success of the “Safer Cities” initiative relies heavily on the vigilance and commitment of frontliners who continue to serve the barangay, especially during nighttime operations.
