The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has partnered with South Korea’s Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to develop smart energy systems that will support the next phase of New Clark City’s growth as a sustainable and investment-ready metropolis.

BCDA and KEPCO signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 8, 2026, establishing a framework for cooperation in designing and developing advanced energy and infrastructure solutions for the emerging smart city.

The partnership will explore smart grid systems, energy management technologies, renewable energy solutions, microgrids, and energy storage systems to ensure a reliable, efficient, and sustainable power supply for future industries.

BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the collaboration will help build an energy infrastructure capable of supporting next-generation industries and boost investor confidence in New Clark City.

KEPCO Corporate Senior Vice President Chan Hyuk Chun said the company will share its expertise in smart grids and renewable energy systems to support the Philippines’ vision for a smart and sustainable urban future.

The partnership forms part of BCDA’s long-term plan to position New Clark City as a premier smart and sustainable metropolis under the Luzon Economic Corridor, attracting investments in advanced manufacturing, digital services, artificial intelligence, and other high-value industries.
