The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) have formalized a partnership designating the Port of Subic Bay as the preferred maritime gateway for the Philippines’ Pax Silica initiative.
The agreement establishes a dedicated port framework for the import, export, handling, storage, and transport of silica and related materials supporting the AI-native industrial enclave in New Clark City, Tarlac.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the Port of Subic Bay offers a strategic advantage by enabling the efficient movement of raw materials and timely delivery of finished products.
SBMA Chairman Eduardo Jose L. Aliño, meanwhile, said the designation strengthens Subic’s role in critical supply chains, citing its capacity to handle heavy logistics and specialized cargo for advanced technology manufacturing.
The partnership also covers joint studies, data sharing, and assessments aimed at strengthening port logistics capacity and supporting broader development along the Luzon Economic Corridor.
