The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) donated 100 sacks of 25-kilogram rice to the Provincial Government of Tarlac on September 1 to support families affected by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
The rice assistance was formally turned over during a simple ceremony at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital warehouse. BCDA Senior Vice President and Officer-in-Charge Mark Torres led the turnover to Tarlac Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) head Ma. Elena Jalos, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer Frances Margaret Canlas, and PSWDO staff.
The donation forms part of the BCDA’s continuing commitment to assist communities affected by calamities and provide immediate support during times of need.
Earlier, the BCDA also deployed one coaster and five vans to provide free shuttle services to workers and commuters traveling to and from western Tarlac City, particularly those affected by the collapse of the Aquino and Agana Bridges.
