Bikers’ pit stop, cross country trail to open in Clark soon

With its continuing thrust to making Clark a “Biker-Friendly Zone”, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) will soon open two new bikers’ destinations which will welcome both bike-riding public and professional bikers in the Freeport.

The first destination is the Bikers’ Pit Stop, which is a stopover designed to become a one-stop shop located at the rotunda bound by Panday Pira Avenue and Creekside Road.

The design of the pit stop takes inspiration from the surrounding greenery and promotes an eco-friendly and sustainable design made from recovered woods. It’s also a dedicated rest area where bikers and their families can relax and recharge.

The pit stop will have retail spaces that can be rented out to interested concessionaires offering various goods and services for bikers.

Food trucks, bike parking area, self-service bike cleaning kiosk, parts and repair shop, first-aid clinic, restrooms, and a pump track will soon be made available to the public.

The second destination is the Cross Country Trail. This new bikers’ course features a challenging route specially made for professional bikers and adrenaline junkies who are seeking a thrilling adventure.

The Cross Country Trail is also located along Creekside Road and its starting point is at Midori Park. All these and more will officially open during the launching of “Clark as a Biker-Friendly Zone” on June 3, 2022 in front of the Clark museum.

Meanwhile, more bike-friendly signage that will include emergency hotlines will be placed along bike paths and existing bike lanes to ensure safety among bikers and motorists alike.

These will also appear along major thoroughfares of this Freeport to remind the bikers of traffic rules and regulations and maintain a safe environment for everyone.

CDC continues to advocate and implement the “bike culture” within the Freeport to encourage a healthier lifestyle among residents, workers and visitors. (CDC Communications Division)
