BONG PINEDA’S PRADERA VERDE HOSTS P4-MILLION GOLF TOURNAMENT FOR PROS AND AMATEURS

LUBAO, Pampanga — Businessman and philanthropist Bong Pineda is once again giving back to the local golf community by launching a P4-million tournament at Pradera Verde, his family-owned golf estate, aiming to support professional and amateur golfers ahead of the lean season.

The Pradera Verde Open tees off this week with a total of 55 professionals—40 men and 15 women—battling it out in a 72-hole pro-am format event. The first two rounds will be played on the Arayat and Pinatubo courses on Tuesday and Wednesday, with amateurs joining the final two rounds.

The men’s division offers a P300,000 top prize, with all 35 players guaranteed at least P16,500 each. Meanwhile, the women’s champion will receive P130,000, and even the last-placed participant will earn P20,000.

“This event is all about helping our local pros stay sharp and supported during the off-season,” said Mike Singgaran, General Manager of Pradera Verde. “Tatay Bong wants them prepared, especially with two major international tournaments coming up in October.”

The Philippines is set to host a leg of the Asian Development Tour at Luisita and a $2-million International Seriesstop at Sta. Elena, both expected to attract top global talent and offer life-changing opportunities for Filipino golfers.

The amateur side of the Pradera Open will also get its share of excitement, with P1.5 million worth of prizes and multiple divisions—including championship and A, B, C classes for regular, senior, and ladies’ categories.

Spectacular hole-in-one prizes are also at stake, with generous sponsorships from CheryLynk & CoGet Go golf carts (UAAGI), the Laus GroupThe Turf Co., and J-Ten Sports. Prizes include a Chery Tiggo CrossLynk & Co 06 SUVPeugeot and CF Motor scootersgolf carts, and premium golf sets—collectively valued at over P4 million.
