The nutrition committee of the City Government of San Fernando was recently named as one of the “most active” groups in Central Luzon in terms of information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign works in social media.
This was shared by National Nutrition Council Region 3 as it held its Gawad Parangal sa Nutrisyon on December 21, 2021 in one of Pampanga’s towns.
City Health Office (CHO), which spearheads the committee, said its continued IEC campaigns on the City’s nutrition services in several office and personnel-controlled media sites served as its ticket in achieving the recognition.
Currently, the CHO implements nine major services under the nutrition area.
These include Infant and Young Child Feeding; Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition; Nutrition Promotion Program for Behavioral Change; Micronutrient Supplementation Program; Nutrition in Emergency; Overweight and Obesity Management and Prevention Program; Mandatory Food Fortification; Dietary Supplementation Program; and, Nutrition in Essential Maternal and Child Health Care.
