The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office III through its High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) is currently leading a two-day meeting of onion stakeholders from across Central Luzon in Angeles City.
The gathering focuses on key concerns and updates in the onion industry, including the Onion Industry Situationer, updates on the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture and Farmers and Fisherfolk Registry System, as well as Philippine Statistics Authority data on onion production areas and volume from 2024 to 2026.





Discussions also include local and imported onion stock inventories in cold storage facilities across the region, Integrated Pest Management, and crop insurance for onion farmers.
Local government units from Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales are also presenting provincial data and industry updates as part of efforts to strengthen coordination and further develop the onion industry in Central Luzon.
