The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has received new facilities in Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan to strengthen forest protection, monitoring and field operations in the area.

The facilities — a depository and storage facility, seedling nursery, and forest officer and ranger station — were formally turned over to the DENR following their construction with support from Eagle Cement Corporation (ECC) and Solid North Mineral Corporation (SNMC) through their corporate social responsibility programs.

DENR Community Office-Baliwag head Dennis Vergara said the depository will provide proper storage for apprehended forest products, while the nursery will support the production and maintenance of seedlings for forest rehabilitation.

The ranger station will provide additional operational support for personnel assigned to forest protection and monitoring.

DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the new facilities will enhance the agency’s field capabilities and strengthen efforts to protect and rehabilitate forest resources.

Pablo also highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in providing additional resources for environmental protection and sustainable forest management.

Pablo and ECC Plant Manager Geneser Aves led the turnover ceremony, joined by DENR Bulacan Provincial Head Rolly Mulato and Vergara.
