CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — In celebration of Philippine Environment Month, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), in partnership with SM City Pampanga, launched the “Drop Your E-Waste” campaign to promote responsible electronic waste disposal.
The initiative encouraged DENR employees and clients to participate in the collection drive, aligning with this year’s Environment Month theme: “Ending Global Plastic Pollution.” The campaign also highlights the need to recover valuable materials from electronic waste and upcycle plastic residues to reduce toxic pollution and environmental harm.
DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo emphasized the significance of proper e-waste handling in protecting both human health and the ecosystem.
“Through this campaign, we aim to inspire a shift in behavior and culture when it comes to waste management,” Pablo said.
All collected e-waste will be processed in compliance with Republic Act No. 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000) and Republic Act No. 6969 (Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Waste Control Act of 1990).
