Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for Civil Security Elmer Cato recently paid a courtesy visit to Philippine Air Force Commanding General Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura to express the DFA’s appreciation for the Air Force’s continued support.
In a Facebook post, Cato reflected on his lifelong connection with the Philippine Air Force, recalling family ties, friendships, and experiences as a journalist covering military activities in Central Luzon, particularly at Clark Air Base and Basa Air Base.
He also recounted working closely with Air Force officers throughout his diplomatic career, including during his service with the Visiting Forces Agreement Commission, the DFA Regional Consular Office in Clark, the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the Philippine Mission to the United Nations.
