DOH inaugurates first hospital in Bulacan

Department of Health inaugurated the Joni Villanueva General Hospital (JVGH) in Bocaue, Bulacan on December 12.

The infirmary hospital with 29 bed capacity will be opening its doors to patients from Bocaue, Bulacan, Central Luzon and even from other regions.

DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, together with Senator Christopher Lawerence “Bong” Go and Senator Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva, led the inauguration of the JVGH.

JVGH will be able to respond to the health needs of Bulakenyos and provide medical and nursing services with admission for simple cases and offering ancillary services such as laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, nutrition and dietary, and social services.

It will soon be upgraded to a Level 1 hospital and will be further licensed as a Level 2 hospital in accordance with RA 11720.

Recognizing the efforts of the DOH Center for Health Development Region 3 headed by Regional Director Corazon Flores, JVGH headed by OIC Chief Of Hospital Dr. Joy Sombillo, and Heads of different hospitals in CHD Region 3 in the success of the inauguration of the hospital, OIC Vergeire underscored the importance of working together in order to bring healthcare services closer to the people.

“Truly, the construction and inauguration of this facility is a testament of the shared vision of Mayor Joni Villanueva and the Department of Health. This hospital is one of the many health facilities that will be established in accordance with our Philippine Health Facility Development Plan. Through the establishment of the Joni Villanueva General Hospital, the DOH reaffirms its commitment to guarantee access to quality healthcare services not just for Bulakenyos but for every one of our kababayan.” said OIC Vergeire.(DOH)
