On April 9, 2025, coinciding with the 83rd Araw ng Kagitingan, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa led the inauguration of the BGHMC Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) — now the largest urgent care facility in the Philippines.
Situated within the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), the newly opened BUCAS stands as a testament tgovernment’s continued commitment to accessible and high-quality healthcare. It not only pays tribute to the heroes of the past but also honors today’s everyday health warriors by providing vital medical services to the public.
The BGHMC BUCAS offers a wide range of services including urgent care, laboratory and radiology diagnostics, and pharmaceutical needs. It houses specialized outpatient clinics such as Family and Children’s Health, Women’s Health, Eye Clinic, Internal Medicine, Surgery, ENT-Head and Neck, Dental, and Nutrition and Dietetics.
It also provides comprehensive screening for cancer, HIV, tuberculosis, STIs, diabetes, and hypertension.
This facility marks the 49th BUCAS in the country, the fifth in Central Luzon, and the first in Bataan — designed to ease hospital congestion and bring fast, reliable, and affordable care closer to communities.
