DOT 3: Prepare for Jellyfish Season

The Department of Tourism – Regional Office III has reminded all DOT-accredited establishments to strictly comply with Beach Safety Guidance No. 2025-001 as part of preparations for the upcoming jellyfish season.

In an advisory, DOT-3 urged tourism enterprises to implement proactive safety measures, including the training of emergency response personnel. Staff are encouraged to undergo orientation on jellyfish awareness, prevention, proper first-aid response to stings, and coordination with local health units and emergency responders.

The agency also emphasized the importance of ensuring adequate safety equipment, visible warning signage, and established protocols for handling beach-related incidents in line with existing guidelines.

DOT-3 called on all accredited establishments to fully cooperate in implementing these measures to protect tourists and personnel, maintain service standards, and sustain public confidence in the region’s tourism destinations.
