The Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 (DTI-3) reinforced its push to develop the Halal industry in Central Luzon through a recognition and capacity-building event for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Held on March 18 at the Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP), the activity gathered 32 MSMEs from across the region, equipping them with knowledge on Halal certification, food safety standards, e-commerce, and financing opportunities.

Experts from partner agencies and organizations, including the Department of Science and Technology and the Halal International Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Philippines, discussed key requirements such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and the importance of sustaining Halal-compliant production.
The Small Business Corporation also presented its Falah Financing program designed to support MSMEs in expanding their operations within the growing Halal market.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of 13 MSMEs that successfully obtained Halal certification in 2025 under DTI’s Halal Industry Development and Promotion Project.
DTI-3 Regional Director Edna D. Dizon said the initiative aims to strengthen MSME competitiveness and open opportunities in both local and global Halal markets.
“By equipping MSMEs with the necessary knowledge and tools to succeed, we are ensuring that Central Luzon remains competitive in the rapidly expanding global Halal market,” Dizon said.
The agency emphasized that continued support for Halal development will help MSMEs diversify, expand market reach, and integrate into global value chains, promoting inclusive growth across the region.
