DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the immediate repair of damaged sections of the Bacolor–Sto. Tomas–Minalin Tail Dike in Minalin, Pampanga, following his inspection of the area on September 14.

The directive is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for the swift repair of damaged infrastructure nationwide to ensure public safety and protect communities from potential hazards.

The dike’s foundation was previously damaged by the strong flow of water mixed with lahar from the nearby Gugu River, following prolonged heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or Habagat.
