DPWH COMPLETES ROAD IMPROVEMENT IN MARIVELES

Motorists in Mariveles, Bataan, can now enjoy a smoother and safer drive along Mindanao Avenue following the completion of a road improvement project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The project involved a 50-millimeter asphalt overlay on a 405-meter stretch, enhancing durability and preventing early deterioration of the concrete pavement.

DPWH Bataan 3rd District Engineer Maribel Navarro highlighted that the road, which accommodates an average of 5,000 vehicles daily, serves as a key route to the Mariveles town proper and the Freeport Area of Bataan.

“This improvement is part of our asset preservation and preventive maintenance program, ensuring better road quality and safety for motorists,” Navarro said.

To further enhance road safety, the project also included the installation of reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings for improved visibility, especially at night and during harsh weather conditions.
