The Department of Trade and Industry – Tarlac Provincial Office through the Negosyo Center Bamban conducted various skills training on food processing for Milamu Lamu Inc. in San Martin, Bamban, Tarlac last September 9.
“The activity aimed to develop food processing skills in the community in order to add value to their harvests, encourage farmers to increase the production of their crops, and to introduce new products that would bring about investments and generate employment and income.” OIC PD Florencia A. Balilo said.
Milamu Lamu Inc. is a group of Aetas and upland farmers organized by Ms. Beth Cordova in 2015. They primarily engage in papaya, banana, turmeric, ginger, white yam, and citronella production.
The resource speaker, Mr. Danilo Gacusan, taught the participants the basics on how to make banana chips, white yam chips, ginger candy, and ginger powder.
The Negosyo Center Bamban will regularly monitor and support the beneficiaries through its business development programs.
