DTI Zambales monitors prices, supply of basic goods and school supplies in Subic

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Zambales, through its Consumer Protection Division, conducted a price and supply monitoring activity in Subic on May 6 to ensure compliance with suggested retail prices (SRPs) and consumer protection regulations.

The inspection covered grocery stores and supermarkets, where the team checked the prevailing prices of basic necessities, prime commodities, and school supplies, as well as the proper display of price tags for consumer guidance.

During the monitoring, store owners and operators reported that their current inventories are sufficient to last for at least one month, indicating stable supply levels and preparedness ahead of the back-to-school season.

DTI Zambales said it will continue regular market monitoring, product availability validation, and timely reporting to ensure accurate market information and protect consumers from possible price violations.
