Eight barangays in Angeles City have been recognized after passing the CY 2026 Building Excellence in Service and Transparency for Barangay (BEST Barangay) Performance Audit conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The recognized barangays are Agapito del Rosario, Amsic, Balibago, Capaya, Salapungan, Santo Domingo, Santo Rosario, and Sapalibutad.
The BEST Barangay is a performance-based program of the DILG that recognizes and promotes excellence in barangay governance, particularly in transparency, accountability, good governance, and effective public service delivery.
The successful audit reflects the continued efforts of barangay officials and personnel to maintain sound governance and ensure that services are delivered efficiently and responsibly to their communities.
The Angeles City government and Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II congratulated the barangay officials, personnel, and partners who contributed to the achievement.
Meanwhile, Barangay Anunas was also recognized for completing its Barangay Profile Inhabitants Encoding* under the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS), an important step toward maintaining more complete, organized, and updated barangay information.
The recognitions underscore the importance of good governance at the barangay level, where government services are closest to the people.
