Farmers in Barangay Carmencita, Floridablanca are expected to benefit from a more cost-efficient and sustainable water supply following the ceremonial turnover of the Carmencita Solar-Powered Pump Irrigation Project on Thursday, October 15.
Floridablanca Mayor Michael Galang led the turnover ceremony alongside Councilor Dr. Adonis G. Magat, chairperson of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Agriculture.
The solar-powered irrigation system is designed to reduce operational costs while providing farmers with a more reliable water supply for their crops, helping improve agricultural productivity and strengthen local livelihoods.
Galang expressed gratitude to the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Regional Office III, through the Pampanga-Bataan Irrigation Management Office headed by Division Manager Engr. Ruben R. Llamas, for implementing the project.
The mayor reaffirmed the municipal government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that ease the burden on farmers, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and strengthen Floridablanca’s farming sector.
The project forms part of continuing efforts to harness renewable energy in agricultural development while helping farmers reduce irrigation expenses and improve crop production.
