Pampanga Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda has approved the request of the Mabalacat City government, led by Mayor Geld Aquino, for funding support for the construction of a multi-purpose complex in the city.
The approval followed a meeting between the two officials, where the Provincial Government committed to support the project, envisioned to serve as a modern convention center for major events, government functions, sports activities, and community gatherings.

The project is set to be funded in 2027 after it was endorsed as a priority infrastructure project during the Provincial Development Council (PDC) meeting, with Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda leading its push.
Aside from being an events venue, the facility will also function as a disaster-resilient evacuation center capable of accommodating around 3,000 individuals during emergencies, strengthening the city’s disaster preparedness efforts.

Officials said the project marks a significant step toward Mabalacat City’s continued development, providing residents with a modern and safe public facility.
Currently, Mabalacat remains the only city in Pampanga without a multi-purpose complex, unlike nearby areas such as Angeles City Arena and Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in the City of San Fernando.
