Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. announced on June 9, 2022 that all school supplies, books, bags, uniforms, and even shoes will be freely provided to Angeleño Day Care students once classes resume in August.
Apart from these, uniforms of the 68 Day Care workers will also be provided by the city government.
This was personally announced by Mayor Lazatin during the city’s celebration of Day Care Workers’ Week at the Azzurro Hotel.
“We will always continue our mission that no Angeleño children will be left behind in terms of education,” Lazatin vows.
City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso and the 68 Day Care workers showed their heartfelt joy upon hearing the good news.
Duaso said this will encourage more the parents to send their kids, aged 3 to 4, to the centers, since they were improved despite the pandemic.
“Sa katunayan po, namigay din ng air conditioning units and electric fan si Mayor Lazatin sa mga centers natin noong January 2021 and March 2020,” Duaso mentioned.
Duaso said based on the guidelines, 50% capacity will now be allowed on the Day Care centers once face-to-face classes resume in August.
“It is assuring to know that the leadership of Mayor Lazatin is very supportive and hands-on when it comes to the need of the children, the teachers, and the centers as well,” Duaso shared.
On behalf of the Federation of Angeles City Day Care Workers, its vice president Lydia Wales expressed her appreciation to the initiative of Mayor Lazatin.
“Malaking kabawasan po ito para sa mga magulang dahil lahat po ay libre na,” Wales said. “Maraming salamat po.”
