Mekeni, mangan at manalbe

Food, farming, and local enterprise took center stage as Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Arrey Perez toured the exhibitors of OPFBEX 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Clark.

Fresh from his presentation on food security and the Clark National Food Hub, Perez explored the diverse displays showcasing the region’s growing food and agriculture ecosystem.

Among the featured exhibitors was Mekeni Food Corporation, which served up its prime sausage products, while DARA Consulting showcased agricultural drones and technology designed to support modern farming. Pampanga and Angeles City also put their local products and food offerings on display.

The visit brought together key personalities in the region’s food and culinary scene, including Mekeni President Pruds Garcia; OPFBEX lead organizers Chef Felix Asuncion and Chie Basco; Chef Heinz Pelayo, co-convenor of the One Pampanga Culinary Competition; and CIAC Director and Pampanga Press Club Chairman Noel Tulabut.

More than an exhibit, OPFBEX 2026 reflected how food, agriculture, technology, and culinary creativity continue to come together in Central Luzon—celebrating what the region grows, makes, cooks, and proudly shares.
