The US government, through the WHO-led COVAX facility, continues to facilitate the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines to the Philippines, as an additional 2,020,590 doses of Pfizer- BioNTech vaccines arrived at the NAIA Terminal 3 on Sunday night, September 19.
Aside from ensuring the steady arrival of COVID-19 vaccines, the United States government has supported the Philippines’ coronavirus pandemic response and mitigation efforts through the various medical supplies and equipment it has provided under USAID.
An additional 561,600 doses of Pfizer vaccines donated by the US government through COVAX are expected to arrive on Monday evening, September 20.
This newest shipment brings to 8.6 million total number of delivered Pfizer doses, of which 4,681,170 doses were sourced from the COVAX facility.
The Philippines has received a total of 64,380,400 COVID-19 vaccine doses from various manufacturers since February.
