MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026 ends with stories of grit and determination

After 14 stages, five regions, and nearly 1,800 kilometers of intense racing, the MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026 officially concluded in Baguio City, marking another successful chapter for what organizers described as the country’s toughest and most prestigious cycling competition.

Local and international cyclists pushed through steep climbs, long highways, and unpredictable conditions from the opening stage up to the final ascent to Camp John Hay, showcasing discipline, endurance, and determination throughout the race.

Nikita Shulchenko emerged as the overall individual general classification champion after finishing the tour with a total time of 41:11:10.

Meanwhile, Antoine Huby delivered a strong finish after claiming victory in Stage 14 at Camp John Hay.

Patrick Gregorio and Abraham Tolentino led the closing ceremonies and commended the successful staging of the multi-stage cycling event.

Gregorio said the competition represented more than just racing, emphasizing that it symbolized perseverance and the determination to overcome challenges despite difficult circumstances.

Organizers noted that while the race has officially ended, the spirit, discipline, and standards shown by the athletes will continue to inspire Filipino cycling and sports development in the years ahead.

The MPTC Tour of Luzon is expected to return next year for another edition of elite cycling competition across the country.
