Nanay urges JODA, TODA drivers to register for gov’t benefits; 1,725 receive cash aid

Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda urged jeepney and tricycle drivers to register their operations and comply with regulations to qualify for government assistance and benefits.

The appeal came during Monday’s distribution of financial assistance to 1,725 JODA and TODA drivers in San Simon, with each beneficiary receiving ₱5,400 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The payout amounted to ₱9.315 million in government assistance.

Governor Pineda emphasized that proper registration and legal operations are essential to protecting drivers’ safety, securing their livelihoods, and ensuring access to government programs.

She also reminded drivers to prioritize their health and safety, particularly amid the threat of extreme heat associated with El Niño in the coming months.

The provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Pineda and Vice Governor Pineda, continues to support Kapampangan drivers through financial assistance, livelihood protection, and access to government services.
