New Asahi opens P50-M facility in Subic

New Asahi Group Subic Trading Corp. has opened its P50-million expansion facility at the Tipo Hightech Eco Park (THEP) in the Subic Bay Freeport, strengthening its operations in commercial vehicles and heavy equipment.

Inaugurated on September 21, the 5,231.60-square-meter facility will handle the importation, exportation, transshipment, warehousing, rebuilding, and trading of trucks, buses, and heavy and industrial equipment.

The expansion is expected to generate 25 additional jobs and further support the growing trucking and heavy equipment trade within the Freeport.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño welcomed the investment, saying New Asahi’s expansion reflects confidence in the Freeport and its business environment.

The company operates under the Apex Trucks brand and specializes in reconditioned Japanese trucks, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, spare parts, and accessories.

The inauguration was attended by SBMA officials, New Asahi Group executives, Olongapo City Mayor Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr., representatives of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, and business partners.
