Clark Development Corporation (CDC) recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Scottubo Corporation, a 100% Filipino Corporation which will build Rhummy, a P26.9 million specialty restaurant in Clark Freeport Zone soon.
The proposed concept of Rhummy is a restaurant with a brewery, distillery, and a pub showcasing Filipino cuisine using local and organic produce and products in partnership with local farmers and food organizations such as Altertrade Philippines, Inc.
The new restaurant is expected to bring more job opportunities during and after its construction.
Rhummy will also serve their own local concept of beer and assorted imported craft beers and spirits. At the same time, the resto will be distilling a range of craft spirits, using produce sourced directly from Filipino farmers that will show the innovative culture of Philippine craft brewers.
It is also seen to boost tourism in Clark once operational, attracting both domestic and foreign nationals, foreign expats, workers, and residents here.
The Corporate Advisor, Edward Bennett Scott, is a long-time collector of bottled whiskey who moved to the Philippines in 2006 and has developed a taste for Filipino rum.
His business partner, Andrew Chinalpan, has been in business for 20 years and a craft beer brewer for the past eight years.
Chinalpan is also the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sagada Cellar Door and Cerveza Sagada Craft Brewery and Distillery in Sagada Mountain Province.
Despite the pandemic, this Freeport remains a preferred tourism and investment hub of local and international companies and renowned brands that bring in multimillion investments.
