The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham) recently hosted a consultation meeting on nature-based water management and climate resilience, featuring Franco Neal P. Rebarter, Senior Economic Policy Officer for Water and Climate Resilience.
During the discussion, Rebarter presented the Pamarawan Pilot Project in Malolos, Bulacan, which employs sediment-trapping units, bamboo breakwaters, and mangrove restoration to reduce flood and coastal risks while supporting environmental sustainability.
The consultation also tackled key issues such as water security, flood mitigation, wastewater management, fish port modernization, and potential collaboration with Dutch institutions and technology providers. Participants underscored the importance of community engagement, science-based planning, and multi-sector partnerships in strengthening climate resilience.
PamCham thanked Rebarter for sharing his expertise and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sustainable development initiatives that promote the long-term growth and resilience of Pampanga.
