The Provincial Government of Pampanga will purchase rice directly from Kapampangan farmers who are members of 14 cooperatives, as part of its support for the local agriculture sector.
Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda said the procurement will be carried out in accordance with Republic Act No. 11321, or the Sagip Saka Act, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture.

The rice to be procured will be distributed under the food assistance program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Pineda added that should the supply from local cooperatives fall short, the provincial government may source additional rice from the National Food Authority (NFA).
The initiative aims to provide a stable market for local farmers while ensuring sufficient supply for government-led food assistance efforts.
