The Pampanga Provincial Government is strengthening its food security initiatives through the development of a 6.59-hectare Food Security Project at the GMA Kabukiran Parcel in the Clark Freeport Zone.
Led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), the project is now utilizing more than two hectares for vegetable and crop production.
Current harvests include eggplant, peanuts, patola, upo, okra, string beans, chili, squash, tomatoes, cassava, banana, papaya, and tamarind, which are expected to contribute to the province’s local food supply.
The OPA has also completed land preparation, regular crop maintenance, and irrigation activities, with plans to install additional water and power supply to further expand production.
The initiative forms part of the provincial government’s continuing efforts to ensure a stable, safe, and sustainable food supply for Kapampangans.
