The Pampanga Provincial Government formally opened the Pampanga Provincial Dialysis Center 1 in Guagua on Friday, April 11, 2025, offering free dialysis treatment to patients throughout the province.

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, and PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro Tengco led the inauguration of the facility, which aims to assist patients who undergo regular dialysis treatment but cannot afford the high cost of care.

The PHP 82.2 million facility was funded through PAGCOR, which provided PHP 52.9 million for 43 dialysis machines and a Water RO System, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), which allocated PHP 29.3 million for the construction of the building.

The center is expected to serve more than 120 patients per day, from Monday to Saturday. Through PhilHealth, each patient may avail of up to 156 free dialysis sessions annually. The provincial government has partnered with B. Braun Philippines for the center’s operations.

The dialysis center in Guagua is the first of five provincial dialysis facilities set to open in Pampanga. Four more are currently under construction, including centers in San Fernando and Apalit.

Present during the inauguration were DOH-Central Luzon Regional Director Corazon Flores, DSWD Region III Director Venus Rebuldela, PhilHealth Region III Vice President Henry Almanon, and JBLMGH Medical Center Chief Dr. Monserrat Chichioco.

Also in attendance were 4th District Representative Anna York Bondoc, Guagua Mayor Anthony Joseph Torres, Sasmuan Mayor Catalina Cabrera, Board Members Fritzie David Dizon, Sajid Eusoof, and Atty. Claire Lim, Special Assistant to the Governor Angelina Blanco, and PHO Officer-in-Charge Dr. Dax Tidula.
