The provincial government of Pampanga is stepping up efforts to make healthcare and medicines more accessible to Kapampangans through the PhilHealth YAKAP and GAMOT programs.
Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led an assessment meeting Friday with doctors, nurses, medical technologists and other health workers from the province’s district hospitals to strengthen the implementation of the programs.
Under YAKAP, beneficiaries can consult accredited healthcare providers and, when needed, obtain prescriptions and access appropriate medicines and other health services.
Pampanga now has 169 accredited YAKAP providers where beneficiaries may seek services.
PhilHealth urged residents to keep their membership active and updated to ensure access to available benefits.
Residents may start by visiting their nearest Barangay Health Center for assessment and guidance on the services available to them.
Barangay Health Workers and Nanay Community Workers are also helping spread information about the programs, while the Provincial Health Office and the provincial government continue coordinating efforts to bring healthcare services closer to communities.
