President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the inauguration and final inspection of the 2-kilometer NLEX-C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 Section 1A on October 29, ahead of the expected surge in motorists during Undas.

The newly opened section connects Quirino Highway in Quezon City to the NLEX Mindanao Toll Plaza in Valenzuela City. It is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve travel time, and provide motorists with an alternative route to EDSA.

The road section will operate 24/7 and accommodate all vehicle classes, serving an estimated 11,000 vehicles daily. It will also improve access to Manila, nearby cities, and the NLEX mainline toward Central and Northern Luzon.

Section 1A is part of the 11.3-kilometer NLEX-C5 Northlink project, which aims to strengthen road connectivity across Metro Manila and improve the movement of people and goods.
