President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the Department of Health (DOH) to implement nationwide the patient-centered billing practice observed at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) in Balanga City.
During his visit, the President lauded the hospital’s initiative of having staff deliver billing documents directly to patients and their families—removing the need for relatives to line up and easing their burden during critical times.
The system, aligned with the zero-balance billing program, has already benefitted 2,976 patients at BGHMC. Marcos emphasized that such compassionate innovations should become standard in all 78 government hospitals covered by the program, underscoring his administration’s thrust for healthcare that is efficient, humane, and centered on the welfare of Filipinos.
