PCSO DENIES HACKING CLAIMS AS ‘FAKE NEWS’

MANILA – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) dismissed as “fake news” reports circulating on social media that its database was breached by hackers.

“There was no breach nor any successful attempt to hack the systems of PCSO,” General Manager Mel Robles said on Friday, clarifying that no incident was reported to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The hacking claims originated from a Facebook post by a group called Philippines Exodus Security, which alleged that profiles of lotto winners from 2016 to 2025 were compromised. Robles countered these claims, stating they were an attempt to tarnish the integrity of PCSO games.

“Our digital defenses remain impregnable despite numerous hacking attempts from around the world,” Robles assured, emphasizing that the database for jackpot winners is securely stored at the head office, separate from branch office systems.
