PNP donates firearms, PPEs to Porac local police

PNP donates firearms, PPEs to Porac local police

PORAC, Pampanga—The Philippine National Police (PNP) through its Logistic Support Service headed by PBGen. Lorenzo B. Detran Jr. donated firearms and personal protective equipment (PPEs) to the Porac Municipal Police on July 29.

The firearms and PPEs were accepted by Trisha Angelie Capil on behalf of his father Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil and Vice Mayor Francis “Budoy” Tamayo at the Porac Municipal Hall.

Donated firearms and PPEs from the Philippine National Police through Logistic Support Service.

The donated firearms were eight units of Elisco 5.56 Riffle; one unit COLT; one unit CIS; 70 pieces 5.56mm magazine; 20 pieces of 9mm magazine; 3600 rounds ball CTg 5.56mm; and 4000 pieces of surgical face masks.

Other PNP officials present during the turnover ceremonies were Regional Logistics and Research Development Division Chief PCol. Amado Mendoza Jr., Acting Provincial Director Pampanga PCol. Alvin Consolacion, and Porac Police Office Chief PLtCol. Ferdinand Alejo.

Meanwhile, Councilors Michelle Bengco, Bong Buan, Papay Carreon, Ayot Dimalanta, Joy David, Councilor Jovy Venzon, and Councilor Ralph Canlapan, ex-officio Sangguniang Bayan members ABC President Maximo Bungque, Indigenous Person Mandatory Representative Edwin Abuque, and SK President Jin Michaela Canlas also graced the event.

Before the turnover, Father Jesus B. Layug Jr. blessed the firearms and PPE donations.

Vice Mayor Tamayo thanked the PNP for their donation saying the firearms will serve as an upgrade to the ones used by the local police.

Public safety has always been a top priority of Mayor Jing Capil’s administration. 

Capil said round-the-clock police visibility has been a key factor in maintaining a low crime rate in his town. (Bayung Porac)
