Police launch investigation into viral video involving alleged Cabanatuan Criminology Students

The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has initiated an investigation into a viral social media video showing individuals allegedly identified as criminology students who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol while onboard a vehicle in Cabanatuan City.

According to PRO3, the Cabanatuan City Police Station immediately acted upon learning of the circulating video. The city’s chief of police directed investigators to verify the identities of those involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial verification reportedly confirmed that the individuals seen in the video are criminology students. Authorities have since coordinated with the concerned educational institution to facilitate further verification and determine the appropriate course of action.

Police also established contact with the individual who uploaded the video online. The uploader has expressed willingness to cooperate with authorities and assist in documenting the incident.

As part of the investigation, the Cabanatuan City Police Station coordinated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) regarding the vehicle featured in the video. The agency has initiated the appropriate administrative proceedings pending further evaluation.

Authorities continue to monitor social media platforms and gather additional information to ensure a thorough examination of all circumstances related to the incident.

PRO3 Regional Director, Jess B. Mendez, emphasized the importance of discipline, responsibility, and accountability, particularly among students preparing for careers in law enforcement and public service.

Mendez said the incident serves as a reminder that responsible behavior must be practiced at all times, especially by aspiring law enforcers. He assured the public that authorities are coordinating with concerned agencies and stakeholders to ensure accountability and compliance with the law.

The regional director also encouraged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by responsibly reporting incidents that may affect public safety and community welfare.

PRO3 reiterated its commitment to responsive, transparent, and accountable policing across Central Luzon in line with the Philippine National Police’s Focused Agenda.
