In celebration of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on May 8, the Philippine Red Cross joined forces with the LGU and Rural Health Unit (RHU) of La Paz to bring humanitarian services to Barangay Rizal.

A total of 38 residents took part in the “Paalalang Pangkalusugan” sessions, which focused on preventing and managing heat-related emergencies amid rising temperatures. A Disaster Preparedness Session was also conducted, equipping participants with essential knowledge for emergency situations.

Meanwhile, 16 individuals answered the call to service through a mass blood donation activity, supporting the continuing need for safe and sufficient blood supply.

The initiative was led by Philippine Red Cross staff, volunteers, and medical corps members, underscoring the importance of partnership and volunteerism in strengthening community resilience and saving lives.
