Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) reported a generally manageable peace and order situation across Central Luzon during the Holy Week period, with most incidents linked to increased travel and outdoor activities.
From March 29 to April 5, 2026, authorities recorded 140 incidents, with vehicular accidents (67) and drowning cases (14) among the most common. Despite these, PRO3 said crime levels remained under control amid the influx of pilgrims, tourists, and motorists.

Regional Director PBGEN Jess B. Mendez expressed concern over drowning incidents, noting that these are largely preventable. He urged the public to exercise caution, especially in beaches and swimming areas, stressing that vigilance can save lives.
Mendez added that PRO3 continues to implement heightened security measures under Ligtas SUMVAC 2026, with over 13,000 personnel deployed across major roads, transport hubs, tourist destinations, and places of worship. The operations will continue until May 31.
He emphasized that public safety remains a shared responsibility, encouraging everyone to stay alert and practice precautionary measures throughout the summer season.
