Retrieval operations continue at building collapse site

Retrieval operations continue at the collapse site in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City under the Unified Command System as responders work carefully to clear the area and ensure the safe recovery of those affected by the incident.

Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Special Rescue Force are using a crane as a lifeline anchor point while navigating the unstable structure to cut and remove metal bars and interconnected scaffolding. The operation aims to prepare the site for the safe entry of heavy equipment needed for the ongoing retrieval efforts.

Simultaneously, responders continue clearing debris and opening pathways for machinery and rescue equipment essential to the operation.

Authorities said continuous assessment and monitoring are being conducted in every section being cleared to ensure the safety of responders and the public throughout the operation.

The Unified Command emphasized that the retrieval and recovery process is being carried out safely, orderly, and with dignity for those affected by the collapse. Proper protocols for the management and identification of missing and recovered individuals are also being strictly implemented.

Officials continue to ask for the public’s prayers, patience, and understanding as operations remain underway.
