Sacred Heart Medical Center expands advanced surgical care

Sacred Heart Medical Center has successfully performed its first robotic-assisted right hemicolectomy using the Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System, marking another milestone in its expanding Robotic-Assisted Surgery Program.

The complex procedure, which involved the removal of the right portion of the colon, was completed just a day after the hospital’s inaugural robotic-assisted surgery cases. It also utilized Da Vinci Firefly technology with Indocyanine Green (ICG) imaging, providing enhanced visualization to the surgical team during the operation.

Hospital officials said the achievement reflects Sacred Heart Medical Center’s commitment to expanding access to advanced, minimally invasive surgical care for patients in Pampanga and across Central Luzon.

The hospital added that it will continue to strengthen its robotic-assisted surgery program as part of its drive to deliver innovative, patient-centered healthcare.
