Senator Lito Lapid staying with minority bloc

Lito Lapid on Tuesday denied rumors circulating on social media that he had transferred to the Senate majority bloc, saying he would remain with the minority group.

Speaking during the Senate plenary session, Lapid clarified that reports claiming he had joined the majority were untrue.

“Hindi po totoo iyan. Mananatili po ako sa minority group at hindi po ako aalis dito,” Lapid said.

The senator also expressed support for the motion raised by Juan Miguel Zubiri seeking to remove from Senate records the video presentation of Imee Marcos.

Marcos earlier accused the 11-member minority bloc of attempting to take control of the Senate leadership to push for a constitutional assembly and prevent Sara Duterte from running for president in 2028.
