The 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Pampanga approved several measures during its regular session on Sept. 16, including initiatives for cancer patients, persons with disabilities, education infrastructure and cultural recognition.
Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda said the provincial board authorized Governor Lilia G. Pineda to enter into agreements covering the following:
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) services for qualified Kapampangan cancer patients, through an agreement with Green City Care Center Inc., which will accept Capitol guarantee letters for eligible beneficiaries.
- A three-story PAGCOR building at the Pampanga State University Floridablanca campus, with the provincial government authorized to accept ₱55 million in financial assistance from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR).
- Electronic Transport Services for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through an agreement involving the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Global Electronic Transport Philippines and PLDT Smart Foundation.
- Recognition of two newly designated National Artists with Kapampangan roots — Maria Beatriz “Patis” Tesoro for Design, from the Pamintuan clan of Angeles City, and Dr. Nicanor Tiongson for Literature, from the Gadia clan of San Fernando.
The provincial board also approved 15 resolutions adopting 15 ordinances from Macabebe, City of San Fernando, Mexico, Lubao, Santa Ana, Bacolor, Floridablanca and Porac.
Meanwhile, proposed resolutions from various municipalities and cities were referred to the appropriate committees for further deliberation.
