More than 200 volunteers from locator companies, community groups and departments of SBMA fanned out to eight points along the shoreline here on Friday to collect mostly plastic wastes and other debris that were washed ashore after the recent heavy rains.
A week-long program comprising of onshore, offshore and underwater cleanup, as well as a lecture series on waste management, has been set by the SBMA for next week.
SBMA is now expecting more success in court after it scored a huge legal victory on the issue of the Common Use Service Area (CUSA) fee, which was opposed by some businessmen and residents of Subic Freeport since it was imposed nine years ago.
