The Provincial Government of Tarlac, through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), is hosting the 10-day Region III Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) Course at the Provincial Evacuation Center in Barangay Tibag.
The training, which opened on June 18, gathers first responders from across Central Luzon to enhance their skills in locating, stabilizing, and rescuing victims trapped in collapsed structures during disasters and emergencies.

Provincial Administrator Krishna Buenaventura and PDRRMO head Marvin Guiang welcomed the participants and underscored the importance of strengthening disaster response capabilities.
Guiang cited recent building collapse incidents in Angeles City and General Santos City, stressing the need for responders to be prepared for similar emergencies.
Buenaventura, meanwhile, encouraged trainees and instructors to maintain their health and physical fitness, noting that first responders must always be ready to serve during disasters.
Also present during the opening ceremony were Shiela Marie Carlos and training instructors from outside Central Luzon.
