Approximately 2000 women in Cuyapo and Guimba in Nueva Ecija received P3,000 each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation.
Senator Imee Marcos led the distribution of financial aid and expressed the importance of returning the aid directly to the people such as the beneficiaries who are women with disabilities, single parents, senior citizens and other sectors that need it the most.
In addition to the financial assistance, the two municipalities were also given an additional five million (5M) each for agricultural grant that can be used in economic programs needed by the women and farmers sector.
During her visit to the province, Marcos also announced that a request of building a Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center in Cuyapo funded with 10 million pesos has been approved.
While for the rice farmers, the Rice Farmers Subsidy program worth five thousand pesos (5,000) each will be distributed next month.
According to Senator Marcos a continuous help from the government will be expected.
Along with Senator Marcos during the distribution were Governor Aurelio Umali, Mayor Florida Esteban and DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Operations Venus Rebuldela while the officials of the town of Guimba also welcomed the arrival of the Senator. (PIA 3)
