Zambales, DepEd ink MOA for new classroom construction

Governor Jun Ebdane joined Department of Education officials on June 2 for the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) under the Basic Education Facilities Program aimed at addressing the country’s classroom shortage.

The agreement, led by DepEd Assistant Secretary Aurelio Bartolome, authorizes the Provincial Government of Zambales to oversee the construction and procurement of new school buildings, while DepEd will provide funding and ensure compliance with technical standards.

Under the program, three schools in Zambales will receive new classrooms: Panan National High School and Bancal Integrated School in Botolan, and San Agustin Integrated School in Iba.

The project forms part of the national government’s efforts, through DepEd, to address the country’s 145,000-classroom backlog and improve learning facilities for students.

Also present during the MOA signing were Schools Division Superintendent William Roderick Fallorin, CESO VI, PPDO representative Emmanuel Adaoag, and Engr. Domingo Mariano.
