The MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025 just raised the stakes even higher, thanks to its biggest supporter, Manny V. Pangilinan.
The Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) chairman personally decided to double the first-place prize in the Individual Category to a whopping ₱1 million — all from his own pocket — following the successful revival of the historic cycling race dubbed “The Great Revival.”
But the prize boost doesn’t end there. Pangilinan also increased the cash prizes for the rest of the top 10 finishers:
- 2nd place: ₱500,000 (up from ₱400,000)
- 3rd place: ₱350,000 (up from ₱300,000)
- 4th place: ₱220,000
- 5th place: ₱120,000
- 6th place: ₱100,000
- 7th place: ₱90,000
- 8th place: ₱80,000
- 9th place: ₱70,000
- 10th place: ₱60,000
The announcement was made during the Media and VIP Night on April 28 at the Hilton Clark Grand Ballroom by MPTC Chief Regulatory Officer Arrey Perez and Duckworld PH Chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio.
Perez and Gregorio shared that Pangilinan has been closely monitoring the Tour’s progress since Day One, and the upgraded prizes reflect his strong commitment to honoring the cyclists’ passion, endurance, and perseverance.
